shared

your breathe upon my shoulder
stirred my sleep but turning you were not
so close your thoughts i thought you touched my ear
not finding you i knew you were here

when summer moved to leaves adrift
and i felt you evening after evening steal near
you brought my sweet slumber safe
though not knowing you i did

arms almost caressing me secure
secluded from my view but in my heart
now my hero slips away like blowing flakes of white
in memory drifts of your story’s heart stands me
